Thursday Night Interval Training

Why not try some Interval Training?

Improve your speed and endurance

No pace groups for this weekly session which runs every Thursday at 6:30pm.  We aim to get you to run a little harder than you would ordinarily but there are built-in recovery periods so you get your breath back!

We operate a 4-week cycle of sessions and the meeting point varies:

Week 1 – Kilometre Repeats

Meet at Faversham Rec Car Park. This session is 5 laps of the perimeter of the Rec, with a two minute rest at the end of each lap. You will be aiming to run each lap at 10-15 seconds per kilometre faster than your regular 5k pace.

Week 2 – Hill Sprints

Meet at the junction of Lower Rd and Ospringe Rd by the post box. This session will be 10 sprints of different efforts determined by the leader, some ½ way or some all the way to the top with a gentle, looped jog back to the start for 90 seconds recovery.

Week 3 – Technique Session

Meet at Faversham Rec Car Park for a technique session. Experience new drills and routines that will help you improve your own running style, increase efficiency and deliver results. Bring an open mind to what is possible, small changes massive leap forward in performance

Week 4 – Hill Repeats

Meet at The Brents side of the swing bridge. This session will consist of 4 continuous 1 mile repeats with 2 min recovery. 1st mile warm up, followed by 3 efforts.

A good laugh and a long run are the two best cures for anything.
