Run2Paris

by Shailey

260+ miles in 4 days

A 6am start for Faversham’s Finest as we commence our Run2Paris today with Sam Cook and Gemma Mann up for leg 1. It is a cloudy start here in Wimbledon but hopefully, the sun will shine as we make our way through Surrey and Sussex until we make it to Newhaven for tonight’s ferry.

FRC Team Day 1

Day 1

It has been the most successful day in our first off the run2Paris. We’ve had Gemma and Sam setting off at 6am for the first leg, followed by Shailey and Rob running through deep mud! Next up was Jed and Aden as the sunshine got hot. Kev and Leon then did the Ditchling Beacon and it was more mud mud mud. Finally, Helen and Janine finished our first day with the biggest smiles.

We’ve all smashed it and now as we queue for the ferry we look forward to running our first day in France. We’re all looking forward to getting to the campsite for some sleep. Tonight we’ll be sleeping on deck!

Day 2

Day 2 and the running is done. As the cut offs today were more generous (1.5 hours) and the legs shorter we were able to work on our 2025 calendar shots… we think these should be on sale in time for Xmas!

Now to rehydrate, do some admin (heading to the supermarket for baguettes and beer), and spend the evening in the town hall with the Mayor hosting us. Tomorrow is expected to be tough, with long legs (I think most are 12+ miles) and plenty of sunshine, so we are all looking forward to our tents and roll mats tonight.

Day 3

Today was hot, whilst the legs may have been long it was the weather today that reminded us this wasn’t a breeze.
We all ran strong and put in some amazing efforts, plus we still had a laugh. It’s been amazing seeing the teams all supporting each other along the way and we are still finding plenty of things to laugh and joke about.

Whilst tough, today has actually been epic we had a great day and ended it on a high with a Bordeaux.

Paris we will see you tomorrow!

Day 4... we made it!

Faversham’s Finest have arrived in Paris, an amazing feat and an absolute blast… we are now hydrating in the pub and looking forward to a night partying in Paris!!!
